I am outraged by the proposed sale of EJ&E to Canadian National Railway!! I believe it will be a detriment to our community. The delayed emergency response times, traffic problems, and overall effect on our community will be unacceptable. I believe it will seriously hurt our local economy by driving residents, customers, and business to leave the area. I have yet to hear a single person that approves of this transaction. Unless Canadian National Railway or the Surface and Transportation Board will personally fund the building of bridges at EVERY intersection this sale must be stopped. It is foolish arrogance for our federal government to push through with a transaction of this size, ignoring the public outrage, and to insist that we as local taxpayers need to foot the bill. I sincerely hope that the City of Aurora, the State of Illinois, and others takes Canadian National Railway or even the STB and federal government to court. We can not afford for this sale to go through. This sale must be stopped at all costs.
