I am opposed to the CN acquisition of the EJ&E for the following reasons (not in any specific order - they are all major concerns): 1 - noise pollution and environmental disruption that will arise from additional trains going through New Lenox and neighboring communities. 2 - traffic backups along major arteries due to larger number of trains crossing Cedar and Nelson roads. (There are currently no bridges for trains - or cars.) 3- emergency response problems due to trains cutting off these same major arteries. 4 - the obvious danger of numerous long trains going through highly residential areas with many families with small children.
