FD 34658 · ALASKA RAILROAD CORPORATION-CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION EXEMPTION-RAIL LINE BETWEEN NORTH POLE AND DELTA JUNCTION, AK

I think that it is important to extend the rail to Big Delta to improve the countries ability to move men and materials for our National Defense System. Long term the rail line should be continued to the Canadian Boarder and connected to the Canadian Rail System. The project as proposed addresses the concerns of protecting the fish and wildlife of the area as well as addressing the problem of the flooding concerns of the Salcha residents. One of the proposed routes directly affects my property on the Old Richardson but this does not change my opinion of this much needed project. This is a sound project and should be approved for construction. I have been in Alaska since 1949, moved to Salcha in 1975 to raise my family and have had to deal with the flooding issues from the day we moved in, but that is what living the Alaskan Experience" is all about. Thank you for providing this forum for me to express "my opinion" as it is probably the only thing I am an expert on. Eric Stenberg"
