The attached letter from the Pa Fish and Boat commission confirms the inhabitance of the endangered specie Bag Turtles on and around the area the railroad runs through. They live on my property along and around the railroad. I request a full Bog Turtle study to be completed by a Bog Turtle expert in order to ensure the survival of this endangered species. This study should be completed prior to approval of the York Rail Trail & York Railroad acquisition approval being finalized. Additionally, Non of the landowners were notified of this project and 24 (of 31) adjoining landowners we were able to contact in the 3 days since we found out about this theft - All have signed the petition against the project, along with 14 other interested family members and residents. The community doesn't want this project! The Railroad act of 1875 specifically states the railroad has an easement only for the purpose stated" and the land is to revert back to the landowner upon abandonment. Not to be sold and converted to a different use!"
