Docket Yard — data licence

The data in this snapshot, and everything served by docketyard.org's JSON endpoints, is the
raw index of the Board's record: dockets, filings, decisions and environmental comments, their
dates and types, documents by content hash, and — in the snapshot — the capture ledger that is
their provenance.

WHAT IS DEDICATED. Docket Yard's compilation of the record, the provenance it records, and the
fields that are the Board's own work — docket numbers and captions, record identifiers, dates,
types, deciding bodies and decision summaries — are dedicated to the public domain under the
Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal dedication:

The Board is a federal agency, and its own works are in the public domain. The compilation and
its provenance are dedicated by RMI Valuation, LLC, Docket Yard's operator. You may copy,
modify, distribute and use them, for any purpose, without asking permission and without
attribution.

WHAT IS REPRODUCED AS FILED. The words of filings and of environmental comments — a
commenter's letter, name and town; a filer's "filed for" cell — are in the public record
because their authors filed them with the Board, and they are published here as the Board
publishes them. Docket Yard reproduces them; it does not own them and does not purport to
dedicate them. Whatever rights their authors hold remain theirs.

The data is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Every record carries its source;
the Board's own file is authoritative. Docket Yard is not affiliated with the Board.

Attribution is welcome but not required: "Docket Yard, https://docketyard.org".

NOT INCLUDED. Docket Yard's enriched layer — entity resolution (the party module), the
machine-read text of documents, and the citation graph — is derived work whose licence is under
review and is withheld from the snapshot and the JSON until that review is done. It will be
published under terms stated here when it is; nothing about it is implied by this dedication.

The software that produces the data is a separate work, licensed under the GNU Affero General
Public License v3.0 (see the repository's LICENSE).
